Matilde Søes Rasmussen: Act

Poetry and photography is combined in this artist book where Rasmussen explores identity and belonging. From the publisher: Act is a book of poetry, prose and photography that explores the search for identity and belonging in a globalised world. It builds on Rasmussen’s 15 year long research and documentation of her work as professional model, where ownership and the body’s relationship to being sold are recurring themes. Drawing on personal experiences and wider political and cultural themes, Matilde Søes Rasmussen weaves together a powerful and poignant visual narrative. This publication accompanies the solo show Act by Matilde Søes Rasmussen in the Copenhagen based bookstore Bladr in February 2023. It has been written and created over a period of two months where Rasmussen was hired as a dresser at a theater, and is an experimental and deeply uncertain publication printed in an edition of 250.
