    Description

Not ten but nine years: A selction of work by the Stockholm-based creative director Christian Altmann, founder of Ateljé Altmann.

    From preface:
The structure, grace, simplicity and intelligence of the solutions chime with my own view of what makes for thoughtful graphic design. But within that menu, one can also see the cultural mix gained from Ateljé Altmann's experience of working in Switzerland, Germany, America, the UK and Sweden. This has given the studio a point of difference and variety in its approach.
This diversity is demonstrated in the Rammsjö 2:27 project and its rigorous, stripped-back modernism, working in harmony with but never overwhelming the architect's work. Other consultants might be tempted to over-design and push their own personalities. By contrast, the Swedish Modern Svenskt Tenn books show a more classical, crafted and emotional approach to graphics. With the identity for the Scrimshaw Bar, we are presented with simplicity coupled with wit. By contrast, the educational Basic Exercises in Graphic Design publication demonstrates Ateljé Altmann's desire to pass on design wisdom and experience to a new generation of young would-be designers.
