Åsa Pärson: Fabricate [signed]

In “Fabricate”, Swedish textile artist & designer Åsa Pärson investigates the ability of textile materials to create some kind of balance, sometimes imbalance, pushing the idea that a perfect surface and a specific quality communicates ideas and memories of different cultures; of tools, landscape and light.

The test weave is Åsa’s sketch method for creating qualities with different characteristics such as tactility and the sensation of the textile - how the material behaves in the hand, against the skin and also how it looks. One component can easily be replaced and give a whole new result, a new surface, a new feeling sometimes not connected to weaving at all.
