    Description

    Article no.: 9789189069275

Leaving geometry From the publisher: After her mother's death in 1920, Hilma af Klint abandoned her geometric approach and began with anthroposophically inspired watercolor painting, as in the series At the View of Flowers and Trees from 1922. Not all artists' collected works can, will or deserve to be presented in a Catalog Raisonné. Hilma af Klint's art not only deserves what it demands, because the work as a whole contains a message and reveals an outlook on life. For the first time ever, the reader gets to see Hilma af Klint's complete production in this historical document divided into seven volumes. She is increasingly emerging as one of Sweden's most fascinating artists. The paintings are presented in the same order as the anthroposopher Olof Sundström numbered them in 1945, on behalf of Erik af Klint (1901 1981). He was the sole heir to Hilma af Klint's work and the sole donor to and creator of the Hilma af Klints Verk Foundation in 1972.
