The work featured on the cover of the book, “The Shadow of Jacqueline,” is based on the controversial album cover of A Virgin Killer by the German band Scorpions from 1976. Annee Olofsson (b. 1966) is one of Sweden’s leading contemporary artists working in photography and video. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including at the Venice and Bangkok Biennales, Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York, Jack Hanley Gallery in San Francisco, Kunsthalle Fridericianum in Kassel, the Hayward Gallery in London, as well as Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Torino. Her work is included in collections such as the MoMA in New York, the Seoul Museum of Art, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Hirshhorn Museum, and the Phillips Collection in Washington DC.
