This is the story of Claesson Koivisto Rune's refurbishment of a great old hotel in Bergen for the De Bergenske hotel group.
When Bergen hosted the National Exhibition in 1928, the city finally got its own Grand Hotel. It certainly lived up to its name, and was long the city’s most luxurious place to stay and a source of pride for the locals. As an excellent example of modern hotel architecture from the 20th century, the hotel was given protected status by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 2012.
